Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data JobNotify (“JobNotify”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. JobNotify is a service that watches company careers pages you choose and emails you when a new role matches your filters.
Google Sign-In
You can sign up or log in with Google instead of a password. If you do, Google shares your basic profile information (your name and email address) with us through OAuth. We use this only to authenticate your account and identify you in JobNotify. We do not access your Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, contacts, or any other Google services, and we do not request sensitive Google scopes beyond basic profile and email.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address and an encrypted password (or, if you choose Google Sign-In, your name and email from Google), handled by our authentication provider.
- What you set up — the careers-page URLs you choose to monitor, the filter rules you create (keywords, locations), and related alert settings.
- Billing details — if you subscribe, our payment provider (Stripe) processes your card. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a customer reference, your plan and billing status.
- Product analytics — a record of key actions (for example: checking a careers page, creating a filter, subscribing) so we can understand usage and improve the service. Some of this is stored in our own database; we also send usage events to Google Analytics (see below).
- Technical data — standard logs and an essential session cookie needed to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To run the service — monitor the pages you choose and send your alerts.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To improve the product and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account and the alerts you asked for.
We do not sell your personal data. When you accept cookies, we may use Google tags for product analytics and to measure whether our own Google Ads led to a sign-up — not to sell ads on JobNotify or build unrelated ad profiles.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people find and use JobNotify — for example, which pages are visited and which product actions are taken. Google may set analytics cookies (such as _ga) and collect information about your device, browser, and approximate location. When you’re signed in, we may also associate events with your account ID so we can analyse product usage across sessions.
Google processes this data as our analytics provider. You can read how Google uses data at Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics in your browser using Google’s opt-out add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings.
Google Ads
When you run or click JobNotify ads on Google, we load the Google Ads tag on jobnotify.net so we can measure conversions (for example, creating an account). Until you Accept cookies, advertising and analytics storage stay off (Google Consent Mode). After Accept, Google may set advertising cookies used for conversion measurement and attribution. We do not use this tag to show third-party ads on JobNotify, and we keep ad personalization (remarketing audiences) off by default. You can reject non-essential cookies via the banner, or see Google’s Privacy Policy and Ads Settings.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps so we can see where the product is confusing. Clarity may set analytics cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognise returning visitors and stitch page views into one session. We do not use Clarity for advertising.
You can read Microsoft’s privacy information at Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.
Chrome extension
The optional JobNotify Chrome extension lets you add a careers or vacancies page you are browsing to a job filter. It can detect common careers URLs (from the address alone) and show a short watch prompt. It talks to jobnotify.net using your existing signed-in session cookies in the same Chrome profile. It does not scrape the content of other websites beyond the page URL needed to watch a board you choose, and it does not sell or share browsing history. You can remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions. See also jobnotify.net/chrome.
Cookies
We use essential cookies required to keep you signed in and secure. When you accept them via the cookie banner, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) and, for measuring our own Google Ads, Google Ads conversion cookies. Rejecting the banner keeps those analytics and ads cookies off.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, except where we’re required to keep limited records (for example, billing records for tax).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to certain processing. You can delete your account at any time from your settings, or contact us to make a request.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know.
